Masjid Al-Zubair
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Our Mission
Masjid Al-Zubair was founded to serve the Muslim community of Dawsonville, Georgia and the surrounding region. As the only mosque in Dawsonville, we are committed to providing a welcoming space for prayer, education, and community connection for Muslims of all backgrounds.
Our History
Established in 2023, Al-Zubair Community Center holds a quiet but profound distinction: it is the first place of Islamic worship to open in this community — a milestone for Muslims across North Forsyth, Dawson, and Cherokee Counties who previously had nowhere close to home to pray.
The center was made possible through the vision and generosity of Eden Community Centers Inc., an Islamic nonprofit based in Alpharetta, Georgia. Eden took the seed of an idea — a mosque and community space to serve a growing but underserved Muslim population in the Dawsonville corridor — and helped bring it from dream to reality.
We are, physically, a modest space. A strip mall storefront. Teal prayer rugs and folding chairs. But our hearts are full and the roots we are putting down in this community run deep. The significance of this place is not measured in square footage — it is measured in every Fajr prayed on time, every child learning Quran on a Saturday morning, and every neighbor who finds the door open.
Special thanks are owed to Brother Tareef of Eden Community Centers and to Brother Shaukat Khan, our founding President — the two individuals whose belief, persistence, and sacrifice made this masjid a reality.
